Music Times Staff dress up as album covers for Halloween

Happy Halloween from all us folk at Music Times! We decided that we needed to celebrate in some fashion, outside of eating too much candy, so the staff decided to dress up as album covers. Thanks to some amateur costume design, amateur photography, and amateur Photoshop skills, we came up with a final product that didn't suck too much. Click through the slideshow above to see the entries, and look below for information on our inspirations. Also important: Vote in the poll for best costume at the bottom...the winner gets more candy from the boss!

1) Goo by Sonic Youth

Goo was one of several seminal alternative albums released by Sonic Youth during the '90s, featuring the single "Kool Thing." Dani just happened to have her sunglasses despite the rainy weather (herself being a kool thing), so her and Ryan wrote up the background narrative, rolled up a fake cigarette and did it.

2) Rumours by Fleetwood Mac

Definitely the most recognizable album on the list, Caitlin went all out to embody her idol, Stevie Nicks. Jon tried his best to be Mick Fleetwood, but at 6'5" the guy's tough to stand up to. Grabbing a coffee mug to serve as a globe, the office duo discussed their love of such tracks as "Go Your Own Way" and "The Chain."

3) Run The Jewels by Run The Jewels

Ryan, being a fan of the hip-hop scene in Brooklyn, had to represent the supergroup featuring El-P and Killer Mike. He got a few weird looks around the office when he was wearing the bodysuit, and we doubt his glasses really helped through the cloth covering his face, plus the fingers didn't help his typing. Sacrifice for his art.

4) The Very Best of Elvis Costello by Elvis Costello

Jon was sapped after going all-out for the Fleetwood effect, so he stuck to simplicity for his second entry. Putting on the glasses he rarely dons, and coloring the office whiteboard to be his green background, Jon turned out a lot more like Elvis Costello than we figured.

5) Who Killed Marilyn? By Danzig

Dani had two things going for her with this costume: A) She was already dressing as Marilyn Monroe for the Halloween Parade. B) She's a huge fan of The Misfits, Samhain, and anything featuring Glenn Danzig. She almost came to work dressed as Danzig, but we convinced her to stick with Monroe.
