Kanye West and team have postponed three more dates from the "Yeezus" tour due to damage to stage equipment. Representatives for West announced on Friday that the upcoming shows in Denver, Minneapolis and Vancouver would need to be rescheduled, although new dates have not been announced as of press time.
West had already postponed a date earlier this week, suspending Friday's scheduled concert in Anaheim until December, although there was no reason for the switch as of Wednesday. It was revealed this morning that a truck carrying stage equipment for the tour had been damaged in an accident, irreparably damaging the 60-foot oval LED screen that hangs over the stage during shows.
"Kanye West will not compromise on bringing the show as it was originally envisioned and designed to his fans," read the released statement.
Although Music Times gives kudos to the rapper for not wanting to water down the production of his current tour-his first solo tour in five years-equipment damage hasn't been the first issue the tour has dealt with.
Riggers and engineers spoke of the epic nature of the stage show, which includes the giant LED screen and a 30-foot tall mountain that West ascends, and how the tour didn't give enough time to break down the set and ship it to following locations. Vancouver, the second show originally scheduled for the tour, has already postponed once because of the inability to set up in time for the performance.
Hopefully British Columbia will be able to fill its Kanye fix soon.
