About 25 minutes ago we put up an article about how well Katy Perry has done while touring in Australia but Julian Casablancas + The Voidz won't have a similar opportunity: The band announced Friday that it would have to cancel all of its dates in the country due to "logistical circumstances," according to NME.
"Unfortunately, due to unforeseen logistical circumstances, we must cancel our planned trip to Australia and Asia," read a statement from the group. "The band is hoping to announce new dates sometime in the New Year and are disappointed that it can't be right now and are very sorry for all and any inconvenience."
The biggest event to take a hit from the announcement will be the Fall Festival, a three-date traveling concert of which Casablancas and his band were signed on to play all stops. The band also had standalone side dates in Sydney and Melbourne. According to reports from Faster Louder, Australian bands Cloud Control and DZ Deathrays will pick up the slack and "fill the voidz" (good one guys). Casablancas will also miss playing the Southbound Festival as originally planned.
The Fall Festival has already taken a hit from big acts pulling out: Robyn + Royksopp, actual headliners, cancelled last month due to family troubles for the vocalist.
Julian Casablancas + The Voidz have stated that they'll be looking to retunes to the continent during 2015.
The Asian dates that have been cancelled include stops in Singapore, Hong Kong and three Japanese dates. No more tour dates are currently listed on the band's website at this time.
