Britney Spears drops new preview track 'Perfume' from album 'Britney Jean'

Britney Spears has released a second preview track of of her forthcoming album Britney Jean, a ballad along the same lines of her "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" from Oops...I Did It Again.

"Perfume" takes a very different approach from the first single off the album, "Work Bitch." While the first takes an aggressive, dare we say swag-filled, approach to the intended listener, the new track features a more concerned, and she admits paranoid approach. Spears is worried that her man may be creeping back to an ex, based on the lyrics, and her plan of attack is to deck herself in perfume and hopes it rubs off on him.

"Have you been thinking 'bout her or about me/And while I wait I put on my perfume, yeah I want it all over you/I gotta mark my territory," the pop songstress notes during the hook. The track was co-written with Sia, the Australian songwriter who's made news with Eminem recent, and who's drafted hits for Beyonce among many others.

"'Perfume' is incredibly special to me because it hits close to home, and I think the story is relatable to everyone," Spears said. "Everyone's been through an insecure moment in a relationship that's left them vulnerable and I think this song captures that."

The track features Will.i.am production, so yeah, synthesizers abound, but there's a touch of acoustic to bring out the ballad in Britney's mood. And real drums!

You can catch the new track at Entertainment Weekly, and we warn you against searching the song on Google, as Spears has released plenty of actual perfume brands over the years. Also, we warn anyone who owns cats: This will make you think of the whole pheromone thing.
