It became apparent immediately following the beginning of Kanye West's "Yeezus" tour that things were not going to work out. The opening night in Seattle ran like a well-oiled machine, but the logistics of moving the stage equipment to Vancouver forced West to postpone the date. Now, after further problems and postponements, the tour has been rescheduled altogether. And not everybody is going to be happy about it.
Six dates have been cancelled and removed altogether from the updated schedule. Denver, Columbus, Montreal, Minneapolis and St. Louis have all seen themselves dropped. The announcement has to be especially bitter for Vancouver, which saw its initial date postponed twice before it was axed altogether.
From what we can tell, all of the tour's issues stem from its complex and grandiose stage setup. The equipment includes a 60 foot long, oval-shaped LCD screen, and a 30-foot tall mountain that West climbs during performances. The problems began when engineers argued that the tour's plan of attack didn't give enough time to transport the equipment. More recently, a truck carrying parts of the LED screen was in an accident, damaging its load. After a few more postponements, including his hometown of Chicago, West put the tour on hold and reorganized.
The tour will commence on November 16 in Philadelphia. You can check out the new schedule below.
