Logic Explains Frank Sinatra’s Influence On His Career, Alter Ego, And RattPack Movement [WATCH]

Maryland rapper Logic has been gaining a lot of attention since being named on XXL's Top 10 Freshman list in 2013. He continued getting praise following his debut album, Under Pressure, which was released earlier this fall. But all this success didn't happen over night. In a new interview on The Boombox's "16 Bars" series he talks about building a following and cites Frank Sinatra as a major influence on his career and alter ego.

The rapper opens about his initial desire to form a group — similar to what Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller have — and his struggle in finding something that fit his personality and mission.

"Then I just thought about how much I love Sinatra, his music, the debonair [vibe] to him, the honor — he walks into a room and everyone wants to shake his hand. I wanted to be that dude and bring that to hip-hop," he told The Boombox. "So then I got that alter ego, Young Sinatra — Like Slim Shady to Em or Hov to Jay [Z]. But then I wanted to take it a step further with the whole RattPack, which is spelled with two Ts and stand for 'Real All The Time.' All these things kind of came into play."

He continued: "I think some of the biggest most extraordinary things in music and in pop culture today is the fact that they're not scripted and they are organic."

Earlier this month, Logic announced his Under Pressure Tour, which will take him across the United States, Canada, and Western Europe. The American leg of the tour will kick off on Jan. 27 in Indianapolis and finish up on March 15 in Philadelphia, while the European legs kicks off on March 25 in Manchester, UK, and wraps up on April 2 in Hamburg, Germany.
