Watch Eminem's stellar a capella performance on BET's Rap City

BET brought back their freestyle/interview series Rap City last night in honor of The Marshall Mathers LP 2 release. According to Consequence of Sound, they did it back in 2009, too, when Relapse dropped.

In the one-off episode, Eminem and Slaughterhouse took turns at the mic to spit rhymes. Em requested that the beat be turned off so that he could take his turn a capella. And he killed it. Showing off his lyrical prowess, he played it old school with lines like, "Role model? I'll roll a model down a hill over broke bottles of coke products of she don't [swallow]." He also made a nod to Bonnaroo music and Arts Festival (we're crossing our fingers he makes a stop there this summer) saying, "F-k me? F-k you, too, like I'm at Bonnaroo booing Bono / And I ain't from this planet, so nanu, nanu, nanu."

From dropping the impressive B-side track "Don't Front" to landing four singles, "The Monster" (No. 3), "Berzerk" (No. 15), "Survival" (No. 16) and "Rap God" (No. 17) in the Billboard Hot 100 - the first artist to do so since the Beatles - Slim is really on a role this week.

Check out his a capella freestyle here (starting at 7:30 mark), and let us know what you think in the comments section below!
