Most run of the mill holiday parties end in everyone going home in a drunken stupor after trying to empty the bar. Only one of these parties were lucky enough to have Skrillex show up and play his brand new remix of Beyoncé "7/11" alongside Diplo as a part of their super-duo Jack Ü. Premiering the remix at the holiday party in Los Angeles for his label, OWLSA, Sonny Moore, also known as Skrillex, performed a frenetic 70 minute set, which included the new Bey remix. Diplo confirmed it was a Jack Ü remix on his Instagram, saying it was a present for Chrimbus.
The only version we have now is what was played live, but Diplo seems to be hinting at a release sometime soon. No word on whether or not this will be released for free, but if it is a Christmas (Chrimbus) gift, then hopefully so. The "7/11" rework has the same edgy stylistic hallmarks of Jack Ü's debut single "Take Ü There" featuring Canadian songstress Kiesza with its punchy, eye-popping drums and gritty bass.
The pair are five days away from "the greatest New Year's Eve ever" at Madison Square Garden as they headline the venue with a supporting cast of Yellow Claw, Rudimental and A$AP Ferg. They have been spending a lot of time together over the past few months, making media appearances, releasing mixes and creating music that is tentatively set to be released in 2015.
Listen to the remix below and check out the full set as well. Chrimbus has come and gone, so stay tuned for any updates on the "7/11" remix.
UPDATE: Jack Ü have released the full version on their soundcloud for your listening pleasure.
