Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre Debate: Which Green Bay Packers Quarterback Is More Generous?

It's been a hot topic of debate amongst Green Bay Packers fans for the past couple years: Who would you rather have under center: Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre?

The future Hall of Famers each won a world championship for the team, while combining for four MVP awards. By most accounts, they're pretty even across the board (though that could change if Rodgers continues dominating the league for another decade).

So, how do we decide who is Green Bay's G.O.A.T.?

Well, if you take stock in Christmas-time generosity, then Rodgers has to be your man. The 31-year-old purchased flat-screen TVs, tablets and Beats By Dre headphones for several of his teammates this week.

"He's a hell of a dude, and we've had a hell of a year for each other," Packers guard Josh Sitton told ESPN. "He just wanted to thank us. We definitely appreciate it. It's nice to be appreciated. We appreciate being appreciated."

Added fellow offensive lineman Corey Linsley: "I mean that's just his characteristic, a characteristic of who he is. It's not that I expected that by any means, but it's like when he does something like that, it's like, 'That's Aaron. That's who he is.' "

Rodgers, who has curated an enormous database of teammates' birthdays on his smart phones over the years, has a leg up on Favre, who was never really in the giving spirit.

Former teammate Aaron Taylor divulged as much this week when he recounted a Favre Christmas story to NFL.com.

Essentially, after years of getting bugged by teammates to buy them something for the holiday season, Favre finally caved and bought an all-expenses-paid trip to Cancun for his offensive linemen. But there was a twist.

"Well, we're down there about a day or two and he busts out halfway through the trip," Taylor said. "He says 'Oh by the way, you have to come to this session tomorrow (morning) and sign some autographs.'

And we're like, we're going to be out late. We don't want to get up. We told him whatever money we were going to make off is not worth it.

But Brett goes 'No, no no. That's part of the deal, man. If you don't do it, you have to go to the front desk and pay for your rooms and your flight.'"

Talk about a cheapskate.

"The best metaphor I could give you was, I felt like Charlie Brown and Brett was like Lucy holding the football," Taylor said. "We knew it was too good to be true. That was Favre man."
