Imagine Dragons recently made their way to Amsterdam to perform in front of a sold-out show at Melkweg concert hall, and now they are set to be one of the performers with the 2013 MTV EMAs in Amsterdam next to stars like Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus. But their show will be somewhat unconventional.
"We're performing at a venue next door, in front of our friends. And we wanted to make a lot of money, so we made the tickets 5 Euros," frontman Dan Reynolds said. "We saw it as an opportunity to kind of play a more intimate show for some of our fans ... especially the ones who weren't able to see us last week."

The highly reviewed band has made a name for themselves with Night Visions, yet with MTV they admit that interviewing and promoting their band is not really a strong suit. They are better at performing.
"As you can tell, our banter is sort of our weak point," Reynolds said. "But when you do a one-off song, you have to force out energy, but when you're in the middle of the set, it kinds of builds up, it's natural ... we'll be in our natural habitat."
At tonight's EMAs the band isn't quite sure what they'll play, but they might feature some unexpected songs.
"We're probably going to play 'Radioactive,' but you never know, we might change it up at the last minute and play 'Love Song' by the Cure," Reynolds said. "Or maybe we'll play 'Amsterdam.'"
MTV EMA show airs tonight at 7 p.m. ET.
