With Scott Stapp in severe disrepair, Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti has free reign to pursue his side project Tremonti, which features Wolfgang Van Halen (son of Eddie) on bass, Eric Friedman on guitar and Garrett Whitlock on drums.
Van Halen wrote the following Instagram post a couple weeks ago:
And with that last note, BVs are officially complete. Looks like we're done here... This has been such a great experience. Very happy to have been a part of this. #Tremonti2
This is good news, because Creed doesn't appear to be moving in a positive direction after Stapp's public meltdown this fall.
As previously reported: Stapp's wife, Jaclyn, filed for divorce in November prior to the singer's previous videos claiming that someone had drained his bank accounts which resulted in him living in his truck. He also claimed that he did not receive royalties from his record company. Jaclyn requested that her husband receive psychiatric care for 60 days in order to recover. She also called police to report that Stapp had threatened to kill President Obama.
Tremonti took to Facebook around the time of the incidents in order to address the situation.
"I know everyone is very worried about Scott, I am as well," Tremonti wrote. "I tried reaching out but didn't have any success. I will keep trying but I think it would be best to keep such personal matters off social media."
The forthcoming Tremonti album will be the group's second. Check out "You Waste Your Time" from the first record.
