Rejoice, Eminem fans. The Marshall Mathers LP 2 star will be back in 2015 on LL Cool J's forthcoming album G.O.A.T. 2.
"Me and Em have a song. He just recently let me hear his verse and it's crazy. He's chainsawing s---," LL told Rap-Up. "I think people are gonna be pleasantly surprised when they hear me and him on a record together."
While this will be their first official collaboration, Rap-Up points out, Slim performed a tribute to the Hall of Famer at the 2009 VH1 Hip Hop Honors.
Em also ">dedicated his own song "G.O.A.T." to LL, saying "In the immortal words of LL Cool J as he would say, 'I'm a G.O.A.T. / And for those of y'all who don't know what a G.O.A.T. is, it means the greatest of all time / And I consider myself one of those..."
Cool J is understandably excited about getting perhaps the world's most popular rapper on tape with him.
"It's our first time we ever did something together," he said. "This is a record that I think people are gonna be excited [about]. To miss out on this G.O.A.T. 2 album would be a travesty for hip-hop. You can't miss this s---."
This album comes 15 years after the original G.O.A.T., and it will feature several other top-notch performers, including Raekwon, Fred the Godson, Troy Ave and T.I.
"We just got together, talkin' and vibin'," Cool J said of working with Tip. "He had an idea that he wanted to send me and I thought it was a crazy idea, and we collaborated and put something together that I think people are gonna bug out on. It's gonna be trippy."
Let's throwback to the first edition of this album, which kicked off the new millennium in style.
