Anyone who has seen the Foo Fighters live in the last few years knows that the band has some major stamina on tour. And on the "Something From Nothing" band's upcoming 2015 Sonic Highways tour, Foo Fighters are promising some majorly long shows, all for the fans' benefit of course.
In a recent interview with News.Com.Au, Foo Fighters members Pat Smear, Dave Grohl and Chris Shiflett promised that the pricey Sonic Highways shows will be worth the money and time, as long as the band and the fans can keep up.
Oh yeah, they're talking three-plus hours.
"I like playing until they're done. [Dave] can tell, he's got this connection with the crowd that inspires them. If he wasn't up there being that crazy inspirational guy, the crowd wouldn't be the same and it goes back and forth, back and forth. I think you can tell when this crowd is done with us," guitarist Smear said about the lengthy Foo sets.
But when do the shows have to stop? It's not because Foo Fighters run out of music, it's because the members' age starts showing. "It's usually just when my ankles start hurting," Grohl said about when the shows stop.
"That's when you know you have been on stage too long when you are thinking about your lower back hurting and not the song you're playing," Shiflett added about the situation.
And as seen at Foo Fighters' recent Irving Plaza show, the band can go for quite some time.
