Back in October, Liam Gallagher announced the split of his band Beady Eye in a post on Twitter but has remained silent on the issue since. However, his older brother Noel has now commented on the disbandment in an interview with Q Magazine (via NME).
"I'm very f**king sad about Beady Eye, because I know they really wanted to make it work," Gallagher told them. "I wanted it to work for them. I was out with [Beady Eye member] Gem Archer the other night. The vibe I'm getting is that it was a shock, although not completely surprising."
Noel said his younger brother's next move should be making a solo album and putting "his balls on the line."
"I'm amazed Liam has chucked it in, but he won't stay out of the limelight for long. I think Liam should make a solo record - put his balls on the line, put his name up in lights and go for it."
The news of the Beady Eye breakup sparked rumors of an Oasis reunion; however, Noel has repeatedly confirmed that a reunion won't be happening. He also noted that he and Liam are still not on speaking terms in order to remain civil to each other.
"There's no problem," he told NME in November. "We don't speak to each other, so there's no problem."
Earlier this year, Oasis' first two albums, Definitely Maybe and (What's The Story) Morning Glory? were reissued.
Meanwhile Noel is busy prepping for the release of his new album Chasing Yesterday, which is set to drop March 2, 2015 under the name Noel Gallagher & The High Flying Birds. The album features an appearance from Johnny Marr. The band will embark on a UK tour in March.
