Fans of Chris Brown who were hoping to ring in the New Year with the "New Flame" singer are going to be pretty disappointing. Just hours before Brown was set to join other artists at The Philippine Arena in the Philippines, he was forced to cancel after being unable to find his passport.
According to PhilStar.com, Brown was set to perform alongside local artists Bamboo, KZ Tandingan, Enrique Gil and Sam Concepcion before cancelling earlier today (Dec. 31).
Concert organizers and Brown's camp chalked up the cancelled appearance to a lost passport, leading to the R&B singer getting stuck in Los Angeles.
"Chris Brown lost his passport the day before the scheduled event," concert promoter Maligaya Development Corp. said in a statement. "Hence despite having entered into a contract with us, Chris Brown would not be able to comply with his obligation to perform."
Brown himself acknowledged the canned performance on his Twitter, though he promised to return to Manila, Philippines, in the spring.
#TeamBreezyManila! Due to unfortunate circumstances I can't bring in the new year with you...
