The Yellow Dogs memorial concert to take place Monday at Brooklyn Bowl

A benefit and memorial concert for The Yellow Dogs will take place Monday November 18 at Brooklyn Bowl. According Brooklyn Vegan, it will feature musical performances by Nada Surf, TV on the Radio's Kyp Malone, Here We Go Magic's Luke Temple and DJ sets by The Rapture, The Men, Johnathan Toubin, !!!, and more.

The memorial follows the Monday shooting of two members of the Brooklyn-based, Iran-born indie group as well as a friend of the band. Fellow Iranian musician, Ali Akbar Mohammadi Rafie attacked the band's home with a semiautomatic rifle, killing their drummer Arash Farazmand and his brother, guitarist Soroush Farazmand, as well as Ali Eskandarian, an frequent collaborator of the band.

The gunman then turned the gun on himself on the roof of the East Williamsburg building where the band lived. He was a one-time member of the Yellow Dogs' sister band Free Keys, but was let go last year.

Siavash Karampour told Rolling Stone, "We were closer than brothers. I wish all this attention was just for a new release of an album. It took us three bodies to become famous. To think about making music — it's almost impossible. But even if we want to stop, we can't. We are going to pursue their dreams. It's not up to us anymore."

All proceeds from the memorial will go toward the families of the deceased members, the hospital bills of Sasan Sadeghpourosko, who was wounded in the shooting, and to the two surviving members of the band. Tickets are on sale now with prices ranging from $15 to $30.
