Ballin’ Oates: Hall & Oates meets hip-hop with remix from Scott Melker

Ballin' Oates has been created, and it's about time. The five-song SoundCloud collection put together by Scott Melker is a fully remixed series of some of the best Hall & Oates tracks like "Rich Girl," "Maneater" and "I Can't Go For That," combined with hip-hop songs from artists like Wu Tang and T.I.

"Hi. I'm The Melker Project. I am a 'mashup and remix artist' based in New York City." Melker says on his website. "I take songs you love and turn them into songs you will love even more. Sometimes people call me Johnny Cashin' Out, Skeetwood Mac, Booty Huxtable, Skeevie Tricks, A$AP Scotty, Holla Peño, Melkradamus, Melka Flocka Flame, Ricky Exit-Row-Zay, Lil' Yung Melks, 3 Chainz or Scary Underwood."

As it says on his SoundCloud: "Ballin' Oates is the third EP in a series of compilations produced by The Melker Project, each focusing on a different classic artist. Each Hall & Oates song was completely replayed and remixed by Melker, before blending them with different acapellas."

This guy knows what he's doing, and for major fans of Hall & Oates, these tracks are much more of a tribute than just a different, manipulated version of the songs. Melker has also created collections like, as mentioned in his bio, Skeetwood Mac, which includes the famous Fleetwood Mac song "Rhiannon" mixed with Rihanna, and his project called Skeetles, mixing Beatles songs with the likes of A$AP Rocky.

All of these famous songs and bands can clearly stand on their own, and always have. But this guy is definitely turning it up a notch and revamping what were already amazing tracks. It's pretty epic. Listen to Melker's new collection here:
