SpongeBob Squarepants is returning to the silver screen in February along with Patrick, Sandy, Squidward, Mr. Krabs and...Slash? A new trailer for The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water features a brief cameo by the Guns N' Roses guitarist while "Welcome to the Jungle" plays, Ultimate Classic Rock notes.
Everyone's favorite sponge is making his way to the real world in the new movie, which will be half animation, half live action. In the trailer, the crew get a rude welcoming from a human child and they end up finding their way into a guitar case owned by Slash, who appears to be earning his keep as a street musician. "Welcome to the Jungle" starts to play - a surefire sign that the Bikini Bottom residents are out of their element. Check it out below.
Slash stopped by Comic Con in 2013 to talk about his production company's horror film, Nothing Left to Fear. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the legendary guitarist revealed that he's a sucker for cartoons.
"The most embarrassing thing would be the amount of cartoons that I watch, including SpongeBob," he said. Slash also enjoys Adventure Time and Phineas and Ferb. Interestingly enough, Nothing Left to Fear features actor Clancy Brown, who does the voice for Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob.
The first trailer for the new movie featured Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It."
Slash is in the early stages of divorce with his wife Perla Hudson. News broke late last month that the pair were separating. Just yesterday (Jan. 5), reports stating that Slash filed for divorce in December and his wife was hiring an attorney surfaced.
