Broken Bells, with The Shins' James Mercer and Danger Mouse, announce tour for March of next year

Broken Bells, the band created by James Mercer of the Shins and Danger Mouse, will be heading out on tour next year starting with a show on Feb. 28 in Minneapolis. The tour ends in New Orleans, which leaves just enough time to make a stop at SXSW in Austin, but that's just speculation.

The band's new album After the Disco is set for release on Jan. 14 via Columbia Records. This comes after its self-titled debut LP that came out in 2010. Opening for Brokent Bells will be pop group Au Revoir Simone, which just put out the album Move in Spectrums earlier this year.

To promote After the Disco, Danger Mouse created a storyline for a short film that was directed by Jacob Gentry and stars Kate Mara and Anton Yelchin. We shared the teaser early last month. The film starts with some ambient qualities to the music and takes the characters into a dream-like world.

Take a look at the tour dates and the short film below.
