The 17th annual Sundance ASCAP Music Café has announced its lineup for the 2014 Film Festival with violinist Lindsey Stirling set as one of the performers. Other acts announced by the organization include Scott Weiland, Andrew Dost of fun. and Jamestown Revival.
According to its website, Sundance will present a dynamic mix of emerging and established songwriters and artists, specially curated by ASCAP, and will run during the daytime from Jan. 23 to 30.
Stirling is known for her electronic violin, dancing and composing. She rose to popularity after her appearance on America’s Got Talent in 2010. Though she did not win the competition, the exposure helped her to become a YouTube sensation in 2012, when her song “Crystallize” became one of the top 10 most-watched videos of that year, with more than 42 million views and more than 5.5 million subscribers. Stirling was also recently the focus of a two-part documentary television series “Song by Song,” which premiered on Ovation TV.
