What would be one of the most unlikely opening acts for Jack White on his upcoming Madison Square Garden tour date? If you're answer was Run The Jewels, you'd be right. And, it just so happens that El-P and Killer Mike will, in fact, supporting the "Lazaretto" singer on his New York tour date at the end of this month.
According to a tweet from White's own label, Third Man Records, the hip-hop duo will lead in to White's set at his Jan. 30 concert at the famous Madison Square Garden.
Though reasons why, exactly, the bluesy rocker and former The White Stripes frontman asked Run the Jewels to perform at his New York City show, El-P had just one reason about why his duo agreed to perform with White: it's in the bible.
The Jan. 30 show is the only date for which Run the Jewels will be supporting White this month, though it's not his only tour date. White will also be playing Nashville on Jan. 28 and Columbus, Ohio, on Jan. 31.
Tickets for the New York City show are still on sale, with limited numbers still remaining. Tickets for the Jan. 30 show run from $43.50 to $80.95.
White is touring in support of his second solo album Lazaretto, which was released in June 2014. Run The Jewels are performing in support of its second album, the fittingly titled Run the Jewels 2, which dropped in October 2014.
It's not the only time the two acts will share a bill - both White and Run the Jewels will be playing Coachella this year, too. Now let's just hope for a crazy collaboration next!
