In December we reported that Selena Gomez and Zedd had appeared in a studio together, but it was not clear if anything was going to come of it. Now it seems as though some magic is being created by the two bonafide pop stars. According to Idolator, Selena Gomez posted a now deleted photo on her Instagram (probably at the request of her team), of her in the studio with caption "Studio flow tho @zedd." The photo was quickly taken down after she posted it. However to piggyback on that photo, Zedd posted one of his own of Gomez blowing a kiss to a bobble head with the caption "@selenagomez likes Johnny from "The Room"... a lot!"
Gomez's decision to call upon Zedd for production makes a lot of sense. They are both signed to Interscope Records, which makes the collaboration easy to make happen. Zedd has a great history of producing hits for pop stars like "Beauty and the Beat" for Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj and most recently "Break Free" with Ariana Grande. He has had pop success of his own with self-produced hits like "Clarity," "Stay The Night" and "Find You" that have elevated him to the status that he enjoys today. Selena revealed about a month ago through a series of Instagram posts that she was working on a new album over the following four months no matter where she happened to be, studio, tour bus or elsewhere. With her single "The Heart Wants What It Wants" doing so well and causing such a stir in the pop community, it will be interesting to see how she follows up her 2013 album Stars Dance.
