Looks like 50 Cent will take an editing eye to more than just writing lyrics next week. As announced, the famed rapper will be participating in a guest editor spot and will be taking over the New York Daily News this upcoming Tuesday, Jan. 13.
50 Cent will be taking over the Confidential column for the day, as well as selecting photos to be published, attending the daily news meeting and picking what stories will be featured, as confirmed by Raakhee Mirchandani, the managing editor of the features section. 50 Cent will also be doing an online questions and answers portion as well, where readers can send questions and chat live with 50 from the newsroom.
The live chat will take place on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. ET, and readers can submit questions here, or through Twitter, using the hashtag #NYDNChat.
As 50 Cent told Billboard, "Tables are turning on Tuesday at the New York Daily News, I'll be choosing the content! Everyone better get ready."
"He's coming to work, and he's going to be the man in charge," Raakhee Mirchandani said, when discussing the special guest appearance. "We're hoping for a little Chelsea Handler Skype or email action."
50 Cent is clearly excited about the guest spot opportunity, sharing a photo of the announcement on his Instagram.
The rapper recently released a new track with Eminem titled "Patiently Waiting." He spoke about the new single with Complex TV, alongside DJ Whoo Kid, Eminem, Lloyd Banks, Paul Rosenberg and more, also discussed the story behind his move to the Shady/Aftermath label, as well as the debut release from years ago, titled Get Rich Or Die Tryin'.
What do you think of the rapper taking over the paper for a day? Is 50 Cent the right man for the job? If you could ask 50 Cent a question, what would it be?
