Despite his top-selling albums, Eminem can still throw down a killer freestyle as evidenced by his stellar a capella performance on Rap City at the beginning of the month. Now the Detroit rapper is prepping for an epic battle with a formidable opponent, Busta Rhymes.
Producer Scoop DeVille, who has worked on Snoop Dogg's "I Wannna Rock," Fat Joe's "Slow Down," and Kendrick Lamar's "Poetic Justice," spoke with MTVNews at the American Music Awards about the upcoming lyrical throwdown. "[I'm] working with Busta Rhymes, I have a single coming out with him called 'Calm Down' with Eminem," he told them. "And that's a six-minute record where they're battling each other for like 30 to 50 bars apiece. It's pretty crazy."
Busta spoke with XXLMag back in September about the track, which is set to appear on his upcoming album, Extinction Level Event 2 LP.
"I've got a six-minute record with Eminem that sounds like we are respectfully trying to battle each other in a way that you probably never heard us battle in our entire careers on a record," he told them. "So it's lot of real incredibly golden moments for us on this project."
In the meantime, Eminem is getting ready to release music videos for The Marshall Mather's LP 2 tracks "Monster" and "Rap God."
