The Foo Fighters are staging a comeback this year starting with their upcoming show in Mexico this December, their first show in almost two years. Leading up to the performance, the band has released a rehersal photo of a bloody guitar and pick as well as a hilarious promo video featuring Erik Estrada.
Once the Mexico gig is over, the band has plans to begin recording a new album. Frontman Dave Grohl spoke with Rolling Stone over the weekend at the American Music Awards, where he presented the trophy for Alternative Rock Artist with Joan Jet.
About the album, he told them, " It's bada**. We're doing something that nobody knows about, it's f**king rad. We begin recording soon, but we're doing it in a way that no one's done before and we're writing the album in a way that I don't think has been done before."
The upcoming album will be the band's eighth studio album, following up 2011's Wasting Light, their first album to top the Billboard 200 Chart. The album is rumored for a 2014 release.
