Sky Ferreira has shared the Grant Singer-directed video for the title track of her new album Night Time, My Time. The clip begins with images of late night sexy things (motels, made-for-porn beds, lacy lingerie) and shows Ferreira in different costumes and varieties of wigs. At one point she seductively rides a toy horse and sleeps on a racecar bed. It is a darker song and the video fits that vibe as she sings, "I wouldn't feel anything / When we burst into dust forever." It is definitely a departure from the more dance-y tracks on the record.
The song was inspired by director David Lynch's Twin Peaks: Fire Walk and Ferreira integrated into the song dialogue between the murdered Laura Palmer and her friend Donna Hayward from the 1992 film.
"I feel like it just kind of summed up the record in some weird way even though it doesn't even sound like any of the songs," she told MTVNews about the song. "At least where my head was when I shot the album cover and when I finished recording everything and as I was writing the majority of the record, I think that was the headspace I was at, was that song."
She also told them that if she could work with anyone musically or cinematically that she would like to work with Lynch. Maybe some collaboration will come together in the future?
