Eminem has just premiered the music video for his latest single "Rap God" off his latest album The Marshall Mathers LP 2. In keeping with the nostalgic theme of the album, the video pays tribute to the fictional '80s TV character Max Headroom.
The video was directed by Rich Lee ("Not Afraid") and filmed in Detroit's Russell Industrial Center. The clip opens with Em portraying Headroom on TV's stacked at a store. It also takes a Matrix turn with Em hooked up to wires with Portal 2 being uploaded to his brain as machines move around him. He also appears to jump into different sci-fi realms throughout the video. With performance shots sprinkled throughout, the video is definitely eye catching while moving at a rapid-fire pace.
The song, co-produced by DVLP and Filthy, received some criticism for the use of the word "faggot." Eminem defended himself saying that he had no homophobic intentions and meant it more as "calling someone a b**ch or a p**k or a**hole." The track debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
