Sunday night marked the ten-year anniversary of The Game's debut album The Documentary, and the Compton rapper celebrated the occasion with a star-studded concert at The Belasco Theater in Los Angeles. According to Rap-Up, he performed his classics such as "Hate It or Love It" and "How We Do" and was joined on stage by friends and collaborators including Kendrick Lamar ("Westside Story"), Tyga, Ab-Soul, O.T. Genasis ("CoCo"), Marsha Ambrosius ("Start from Scratch"), and ScHoolboy Q ("Higher").
Dr. Dre, who executive produced the album, also made an appearance, as the crowd cheered and screamed his name. The Game's 11-year-old son Harlem, who was the baby featured on the album cover, came out at one point to perform "Like Father, Like Son."
"Last night show was dope as f**k! Thanks again to my mentor & everyone that came out & made it a night to remember," The Game captioned an Instagram photo of him and Dre.
The Documentary was released on Jan. 18, 2005 on Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and eventually was certified double platinum. The album, which featured production from Dre, Timbaland, Kanye West and more, propelled the Game to be one of the big players in reviving West Coast hip-hop.
The Game is currently working on a sequel to The Documentary and recently posted a photo on Instagram with Faith Evans in the studio. Back in August he said he was looking to have Just Blaze, Scott Storch, and Dr. Dre on as producers. The Documentary 2 was originally slated for release on the anniversary of the first album, however, it has yet to drop. It will be the rappers seventh studio album following Blood Moon: Year of the Wolf, which was released back in October and spawned the single "Or Nah."
