Lil Wayne's 'Sorry For The Wait 2' Is Out Ahead of 'Tha Carter V' Release [LISTEN]

At long last, the wait is over for Lil Wayne fans. Well, not the wait for the most prized item in the treasure box, Tha Carter V, but the next shiniest that Weezy has procured from his stash — Sorry For The Wait 2, his make up mixtape in lieu of the long delayed album.

The follow up to the 2011 Sorry For The Wait, which was unfortunately created under similar circumstances, SFTW2 is primarily just Lil Wayne, but he does call upon some of his friends like Drake, Christina Milian, Young Money president Mack Maine, 2 Chainz and SNL for features.

As he has done in the past to great success, Weezy raps over popular hip-hop beats right now like O.T. Genasis' "Coco," Rae Shremmurd's "No Type," OG Maco's "U Guessed It," Beyoncé's Grammy-nominated single "Drunk In Love" and many more.

A potential collab with Migos is missing as they were seen in the studio together recently, though there was never any confirmation that any final product was created.

Two of the songs from mixtape were already released in the lead up to Jan. 20 — his remix of Future's "S-t" and "Fingers Hurting," a remix of ILoveMakonnen's "Maneuvering."

The 17-track mixtape addresses the theme of his album delay and the feud with Birdman and Cash Money Records several times, firing shots at head of YMCMB. He comes locked and loaded some potent punch lines throughout the tape.
