Childish Gambino's new 'Because The Internet' single 'Telegraph Ave.' dropped [LISTEN]

After getting peeved that his track "Sweatpants" leaked last week, Childish Gambino's new song's early release has received his stamp of approval. In what is either Gambino accepting "the Internet" or the "imaginative rollout" that he had mentioned, he retweeted actor Michael B Jordan's link to the track.

"Telegraph Ave." is set over wonky keyboards, hazy vocals with an alternating beat. With a hint of Drake-ness to it, Gambino tells a story set in Oakland, California about a relationship he had with a chick in the Bay Area. "Everything that I wanted / Only gotta drive for the moment / If you tell me 'turn around' then I'm on it / For the moment / but you know me / you know how I get when I'm lonely / I think about you and the moments / but everything you do is so Oakland."

And because 2013, we get lines like "Everything you won't say, you tweet it" and "Two dates and she still wanna get it in / And you're saying it's because the Internet."

Los Angeles producer Ta-Ku took a turn at the track, giving it a wild electronic remix. You can listen to it here.

Gambino's upcoming album Because The Internet is scheduled to drop December 10 via Glassnote Records. So far, the singles "Shadows," "3005," "Worldstar" and "Sweatpants" have been released (officially and otherwise).
