Lady Gaga continues to roll out collaborators for her new album, or in this case Giorgio Moroder presented himself as working with the performer, telling PopJustice that he had about five or six tracks prepared for presentation. Moroder must be in demand among pop stars right now, as the Gaga revelation slipped while he was discussing his work with Britney Spears as part of his own solo record.
The performer said that he was supposed to be in the studio with the Mother Monster last week but had to postpone due to catching a cold. He doesn't have too much of an idea about what Gaga will do with his ideas, or whether they'll be used at all, but he's hoping at least one gets set aside for use on his own solo album 74 Is The New 24, which will be the Italian electronic icon's first in more than 30 years.
"This is for her new album-that's the intention," he told the website. "I was hoping that maybe I can convince her to have one of the songs for my album. If I could convince her, well that would be incredible."
Moroder is an in-demand item now, thanks to the "revelatory" track detailing his career on Daft Punk's Random Access Memories and a general interest in the disco sound that he helped create during the '70s. Moroder has a slew of pop performers already arranged for appearances on his album, including Charli XCX, Sia and Spears.
As for Gaga, she hasn't been overly forthright about work on her new album although she did post a photo on Instagram featuring herself and producer RedOne in the studio. RedOne worked on some of her biggest hits, including "Just Dance" and "Bad Romance," but only took part in one song for Artpop.
