The sexy soundtrack to the upcoming film adaptation of FIfty Shades of Grey is finally blossoming into a bigger picture. Previously, The Weeknd shared "Earned It" and Ellie Goulding asked you to "Love Me Like You Do," and now Sia is throwing herself into the mix. Today (Jan. 27), the "Elastic Heart" singer's contribution to the BDSM-filled movie has hit the Internet: and it's a "Salted Wound."
Despite the smutty nature of the movie and the dramatic song title, "Salted Wound" is a subdued, simply beautiful track from Sia. While the Fifty Shades of Grey offerings from The Weeknd and Goulding haven't been uptempo by any means, "Salted Wound" is a particular charming ballad.
The track opens with a swell of stringed instruments, pulling almost an Eastern influence into the mix. The soft dripping instruments compliment Sia's vocals perfectly. Instead of blasting into the music like she does on, say, "Chandelier," Sia keeps things soft and floating throughout "Salted Wound," mimicking the floating music underneath her.
With tenderness, Sia sings about showing your newfound love your good side - something Christian Grey will have to do throughout the film. "Tell her on how you feel / Give her every say she needs to hear / Give your heart and say come take it / And she will see you're a good man," Sia sings in the second verse.
