The new commercial for Beats By Dre features Kendrick Lamar recording with Dr. Dre in the studio. Really it's more of a dramatic short story than a commercial. It's about "three or four" in the morning, and the two have been at it all night trying to get a track right.
"What'd you think?" Dre asks Kendrick.
"I ain't feeling it; the energy ain't there, " Kendrick responds. "I liked the second take better than the first take but overall, the energy... I don't know."
"Why don't we do this: why don't we take it home, sleep on it. We've been here a long time," Dre tells him.
The next day, Kendrick then walks into the barbershop with his Beats By Dre Pill speaker and plays the track for his friends. Dre stands at the window of his mansion then calls Kendrick back into the studio. They both simultaneously figure out what the track is missing: drums.
He then spits a rapid-fire verse with crashing drums in the background and screams, "It's alive!"
