Drake drops Grammy Nominations Concert at last moment

Rapper Drake won't be making his scheduled appearance at the Grammy nominations concert in Los Angeles tonight, as was previously announced. A spokesperson for the rapper cited "scheduling complications."

"Unfortunately, due to scheduling complications, Drake will no longer be performing," the representative said. "[He's] currently in the middle of his nationwide 'Would You Like a Tour?' and sincerely apologizes to his fans that he can't be there."

According to Drake's schedule, he won't be performing another show Friday night, but "Would You Like A Tour?" will be making a stop in Kansas City, MS on Saturday.

Considering that the rapper announced his tour months ago, it should have been fairly easy to spot that he wouldn't be anywhere near Los Angeles this weekend, so calling it a "complication" might be a bit of a stretch. Drake's fans will have to live with the development, but the rest of the world will still have plenty of firepower to fill the lineup. Lorde, Robin Thicke, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Miguel, T.I., Keith Urban, and members of Earth, Wind, and Fire are all scheduled to perform tonight at the Nokia Theatre. Granted they don't suddenly realize they're two time zones away. Taylor Swift and Katy Perry will also provide additional performances for the broadcast, recording from Australia and Canada, respectively.

The concert itself will air at 10 P.M. on CBS, with rapper LL Cool J acting as host again. Look forward to further coverage of the nominations from Music Times this weekend.
