Pixies announce new bassist Paz Lenchantin and 2014 tour dates [SCHEDULE]

The Pixies have announced who their new bassist will be, and no, her name isn't Kim. Paz Lenchantin, who has played with Zwan, A Perfect Circle and Entrance Band, will be joining the band on their upcoming 2014 tour. She replaces Kim Shattuck who replaced founding member Kim Deal during the band's 2013 tour.

"We are really looking forward to playing with her on these dates," drummer David Lovering said in a statement. "Working with different bass players is very new for the band, but we're having a great time doing it."

Lenchantin and the band will embark on a 33-date U.S. tour, starting January 14 in Toronto, Canada, as well as European festival dates, including Primavera in Spain and Lollapalooza in South America, a headlining performance at London's Field Day and an one-off opening for Arcade Fire June 29 in Dublin.
