Regional Mexican singer Jenni Rivera died one year ago today on December 9, 2012 in a plane crash while working in Mexico. The California-born singer was known for her personal songs about social issues and complex relationships as well as for being one of the few female artists to succeed in the male-dominated genre of Banda.
