Despite 2014 being the year of Taylor Swift, this Sunday's Grammys will not be very T-Swift-centric. The singer's only nominated song is "Shake It Off," while the rest of her 1989 album dropped too late in the year for it to be included in award season.
While that means the 2016 Grammys will likely be all about Taylor, fans were still hoping for a Swift performance on national television this weekend.
Alas, according to the pop star's Tumblr account (via Billboard), that will not be the case. Read Swift's message below:
Hey guys! A lot of you have been asking about the Grammys this week and I just wanted to give you an update. I'm really excited to be nominated for 3 Grammys this year and even more excited that I'll be there having a dance party/rage fest in the audience. I will also be presenting the award for Best New Artist. Since my whole life is wrapped up and entangled in the planning of The 1989 World Tour right now, I'm not going to be performing on the Grammys this year. I need this time to focus only on the tour. I hope I'll see you out there at one of the stadiums this summer having a rage fest of your own! Love you. Taylor
It's not the end of the world; he still get live performances from Ariana Grande, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and perhaps even Beyoncé.
Plus, Swift fans won't miss her for long; she's hitting the road with Haim this year for a lengthy world tour.
