Luke Bryan: missed the CMT Artists of the Year ceremony
While the situation is an adjustment for all parties involved, Bryan credits his wife for really stepping up.
"We're exhausted at the end of the day, especially her from the new things that are going on in our life," Bryan told Taste of Country. "But we feel like if we just stay positive through this maybe we'll be a positive inspiration for people that have these things happen to them."
Cheshire was married to Bryan's sister Kelly, who died just as Bryan was trying to get his career off the ground. His brother Chris was also involved in a fatal car accident when Bryan was 19. Til's two sisters live with other family members and visit their brother every so often to keep the family together. Bryan has remained optimistic, at least in the public eye, in light of the tragedy.
"I think people expect that from me," he added. "I have to pray that people that have had similar situations can look at my family and see me positively dealing with it."
Til, 13, joined his cousins Bo, 6, and Tate, 4, in the Bryan household.
Lady Antebellum paid tribute to Bryan and his family at the CMT Artists of the Year show by performing his hit ballad "Drink a Beer." The country star was moved by the performance, and he thanked the trio for their kind gesture.
"That was amazing. Truly. Thank you Charles, Dave, Hillary and Chris! Beautiful!!! Thank you fans for your love," he tweeted.
Bryan will head out on tour May 8, making stops around the country through October.
