Bad news for fans of the UK's other boy band: The Wanted have been forced to cancel all of its "mainland" European tour dates for 2014. No reason was given for the cancellation, but many suspect it has something to do with member Max George leaving the group during its North American tour due to "attend some family matters." No further details were shared in that ordeal either.
The extent of the explanation for the cancellation was an "unforeseeable changes in our scheduling," and the band commented that it was "gutted" by the decision. The full statement is below:
"To all our fans in mainland Europe, we're really sorry but due to some unforeseeable changes in our scheduling, we're having to cancel our European tour dates in February/March. Rest assured all tickets are refundable, and we do hope to see you again really soon! The UK, Ireland & US legs of the tour are not affected. Thanks for your ongoing support. Lots of love, The Wanted xx."
As mentioned at the bottom of the statement, both the current North American tour and the group's tour of the UK will not be affected by the decision. George will not be with the group for the remainder of the shows in the United States-Charlotte, Montreal, Buffalo, Green Bay and Chicago-but the group will push on as a four-piece (the band was touring in Canada at the time of the announcement). No word yet on whether George will return for The Wanted's UK shows.
