Madonna. According to Forbes' 2013 list, the singer pulled in $125 million this year. The bulk of her payday came from the final leg of her MDNA Tour, which grossed $305 million overall. According to Rolling Stone, she supplemented her income with merchandise sales, her Material Girl clothing line and her "Truth or Dare" fragrance.
What's more is that she is not only the highest earning woman in music, but in November she was named the highest earner in ALL of music and in August was named highest earning celebrity overall.
Lady Gaga grabbed the No. 2 spot on the list of highest earning women, having earned $80 million — and that was calculated before her latest album ARTPOP came out.
Coming in at No. 3 was Taylor Swift, raking in $55 million thanks to her latest album Red. Beyoncé came in fourth with $53 million, thanks to her Mrs. Carter World Tour. Finishing last in the top five was Jennifer Lopez, who earned $45 million.
Other musicians to make the Top 10 list for female earners were Rihanna ($43 million), Katy Perry ($39 million), Pink ($32 million), Carrie Underwood ($31 million) and Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey who tied for tenth with $29 million each.
