After releasing a series of teasers through their website earlier this week, Axwell / Ingrosso have unveiled the first video in their vault for their hit single "Something New." The visuals follow two men on motorcycles as they navigate their way through a traffic jam in the desert stuck under mysterious circumstances and every car they pass is playing "Something New."
All off the passengers are also singing or humming along to the song as the two motorcyclists pass by, presumably Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso, who are decked out in all black and some pretty sweet leather jackets with their logo on the back.
The video, directed by Ian & Cooper, could be a metaphor for the beginning of a journey and they want to bring all different types of people, from policemen, to hipsters to a Buddhist monk.
"Something New" has gone through several different videos until this point. The track was first tabbed by Apple and Beats to be a part of the new ad campaign to launch Beats Solo. The star-studded commercial featured cameos from the likes of Big Sean, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz and many others. It also got the lyric video treatment at the end of last year to round out the full gamut of possible videos.
Former hottest record in the world, "Something New" is the second single from Axwell / Ingrosso's impending album, slated for release at some point during 2015 through Def Jam Recordings. It was co-written with Vincent Pontare, who played the same role for Swedish House Mafia on "Don't You Worry Child" and then again with Sebastian Ingrosso on his smash single with Tommy Trash "Reload." Frequent collaborator Salem Al Fakir rovides the vocals for the song.
