This time last week the media was going crazy over the anticipation of Bruce Jenner's transition. It has slowly but surely been happening in front of our eyes for the last year, but with confirmation that he is indeed embracing life as a woman, it suddenly seemed more real. The writing was clearly on the wall once Jenner had a laryngeal shave done last spring, but still there were many doubters who still thought it might all just be wild rumors. Now, thanks to that deadly crash on the Pacific Coast Highway last weekend and its fallout, Jenner's whole life has been turned upside down and his transformation is reportedly on hold.
According to a report by Radar Online, he feels his focus needs to be on the investigation into the seven-car pileup that killed Kim Howe, his former Calabasas neighbor.
"The interview with Diane Sawyer, the filming of the docuseries and the surgery will carry on, but there is a delay [in the wider process], revealing his plans for sex reassignment surgery are on hold now because Bruce's central focus has shifted. Bruce is giving all of his time and energy right now into helping out with the investigation and in making sure that there is peace for those close to the deceased. Because of the accident, people who Bruce hasn't spoken to in forever are reaching out to him to offer support for his grieving process. But they are also letting him know that they support his transition, too," said the source.
While a representative for Jenner claims he was not texting when he smashed into the car ahead of him, that does not mean he will be entirely cleared of wrongdoing. Jenner could still be charged with involuntary manslaughter, and until he knows exactly what his future looks like, it is probably wise for him to push back any further gender reassignment surgery.
In the weeks leading up to this devastating accident, those close to the Olympic champion had said that they have never seen him happier than he has been recently. That said, this accident and the loss of life it caused has reportedly crushed the 65-year-old reality star. Do you think Jenner will ultimately face any charges?
