A$AP Rocky has shared the visuals for his January single "Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2." The video is a fast-paced compilation of clips that follows Rocky around various spots in his neighborhood in New York City that include packed parties, bodegas and apartment buildings. It is filmed with lo-fi footage and special coloring and visual effects that add to the haunting vibe of the song.
Rocky described the direction he wanted to take with the video in a Tumblr Q&A he did before the release of the video. "I wanted to make a fun lo-fi video using projectors and showcasing that fun energy."
The song is an excruciatingly short 2:09 and the video cuts off at that mark to a different scene set in a Laundromat with several women doing laundry in booty shorts. He delivers a 50 second preview of a slowed, down, moody track similar to what he has done in the past with tracks like "Multiply." He capped off the video with a tribute the recently deceased founder of A$AP Mob, A$AP Yams, who died on Jan. 18, 2015 at the age of 26.
Expect "Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2" to be a part of A$AP Rocky's upcoming, highly anticipated still untitled sophomore album.
In the lead up to the video release, Rocky did a Q&A, which elicited some pretty hilarious questions and responses from the rapper.
He revealed his ultimate sexual fantasy would be to have sex with Madonna, while also giving an update on the status of Yam's family, "Yams' family is great, they all stayed unified and supportive since his passing... R.I.P. Yam$."
He is asked about Iggy Azalea and Rocky jokingly replies, "She look like she not getting piped right these days, lol, jk."
