Beyoncé caught everyone off guard late Thursday night when she, without warning, released a new, self-titled album with 14 tracks and 17 videos. This all happened amid her current Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, so during her Chicago gig Friday night, she debuted "XO," the album's tenth track, live for the first time.
"I'm gonna sing you a song which is a brand-new song," she said as she introduced the number. "It hasn't even been out for 24 hours. I'm gonna sing this for y'all because it was written for y'all." She then instructed the crowd for a call-response collaboration. "This is the first time, something I'll never forget," she said.
According to Rolling Stone, "XO" will be released as the album's third single, following "Blow" and the Jay Z-aided "Drunk in Love."
