New York City's SubCulture Underground to host first annual holiday series

Beginning tomorrow, December 17, and going through December 22, SubCulture: Arts Underground will host its first annual holiday concert series. If you're in the New York City area for the holidays, the series promises to feature some of the city's top musicians within jazz and classical as well as singer-songwriters and Broadway acts. According to a press release, the nights will "consist of seasonal favorites and some unexpected twists on holiday programming."

The SubCulture Holiday band, made up of Steve Elliot on guitar, Alan Hampton on bass, Gregg Kallor on piano, Ben Wittman on percussion as well as vocal dueo Laila Biali and Jo Lawry, will lead the festivities with a special guest featured at each show.

Throughout the series, SubCulture is hosting a clothing drive to benefit Housing Works, whose mission is to end homelessness and eradicate AIDS.

SubCulture: Arts Underground is a music and performing arts venue located in New York's iconic Bowery neighborhood in downtown Manhattan. It is housed in an intimate, underground space designed to support audience and artist interaction.

Matinee performances from December 20 to December 22 will feature family-friendly entertainment including sing-a-longs.
