Justin Bieber posts snippets of 'Swap It Out,' 'One Life' and 'What's Hatnin'' from 'Journals' on Instagram [LISTEN]

It hasn't actually been that long since Justin Bieber last released a new song (only eight days), but for Beliebers, it likely feels like forever. Earlier this week, the teen pop sensation announced that he has delayed the release of his new album Journals by one week, all thanks to an additional song. However, to thank his fans for being oh-so-patient, the Biebz has teased three of the six new songs from the album on his official Instagram account.

"Swap It Out," "One Life" and "What's Hatinin'" (feat. Future) have all gotten the snippet treatment.

Promoted as his "favorite," "Swap It Out" features some real smooth Bieber-y vocals and the type of musical backing and production that fans have learned to expect from this Bieber era -- '90s influenced R&B, mixed with light electronic drums and some thumping basslines. "Open up to me, is all you got to do / Give me all your heart, swap it out with you," he softly sings, quickly melting the hearts of tween girls all across the world.

Song No. 2 to get a snippet, "One Life," features nearly whispered vocals and some high range work from the Biebz, not unlike the pre-chorus to his 2012 hit "Boyfriend." Actually, the two songs seem very similar, but if it works, it works.

The final song that has been previewed is the oddly titled "What's Hatnin'." There are some club-ready beats in this track, with a drop and some talk-singing that is somehow reminiscent of a banging Rihanna track. Future's signature auto-tuned croons come in and out of the song, which is a total mess in the way that thumpin' dance tracks are sloppy yet totally work.

These three songs are just half of new tracks to be released on Monday, Dec. 23, for Bieber's upcoming album Journals. The record will be sold exclusively on iTunes and will also feature the 10 songs from the singer's Music Mondays series.
