Everyone is a critic during New York Fashion Week, but not everyone loves the looks that celebs trot out. Earlier this week, "Ayo" singer Chris Brown and his on-again, off-again girlfriend Karrueche Tran showed up to a NYFW event wearing matching fur coats, and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is not amused.
PETA experienced a win this fashion week with a Time Square anti-fur billboard with "Just Give Me a Reason" singer Pink. However, fur is a constant this season and the activist group is livid at Brown and Tran for showing up at the Michael Costello fashion show and sitting front row while wearing fur coats.
Brown showed off a snapshot of himself, Tran and Christina Milian at the Costello show, prompting PETA to call him out Brown for wearing animal skins, calling it another "violent" act in his rocky personal life.
"There are few things more out of touch than draping yourself in the skins of animals who were beaten, electrocuted, and even skinned alive for their fur. Pink's New York Fashion Week PETA billboard shows that true beauty comes from kindness - Chris Brown's furs are just more of the same from him: ugly violence," PETA said in a statement to Gossip Cop.
Brown isn't the first celebrity to get blasted by PETA this fashion week, the group also called out Kim Kardashian for dressing her daughter North West in furs.
