Allison Williams Puts Wedding on Hold, Insists Her Father Brian Williams is Trustworthy

NBC has spent the last few weeks dealing with their main man, Brian Williams', fall from grace in the most public of ways. He is currently suspended for 6 months from anchoring NBC Nightly Newsbecause of what appears to be a chronic embellishment problem. It seems that the more digging the network did, they more they've uncovered Williams' need to make himself part of many heroic news stories. The problem is that he had a hard time keeping his facts straight until real cracks in his recollections began to show. While the focus has been on Williams, his family has also been affected by the scandal.

Allison Williams is Brian's actress daughter who, in recent months, has really watched her own star rise. The Girls star recently appeared in NBC's live version of Peter Pan. She also just confirmed her engagement to Ricky Van Veen and was beginning to plan their wedding. Unfortunately, during an interview with Seth Myers, Allison admitted that her plans are on hold.

"Current events started happening and so that derailed it a little bit... It's just something we haven't focused on, but, spoiler alert, we are excited! One thing this experience has not done is shake my trust and belief in him as a man. He's a really good man, an honest man, a truthful man - he has so much integrity and so much respect for journalism. And yes, he's a really good dad. I know you can trust him because, as any good daughter does, I've tested him on that." said Williams.

It has to be really hard for her to be working in Hollywood now. If Allison had a normal job, she could at least dodge some of the commentary, but as an actress, she has to deal with the press. Sadly, interviews for her will inevitably turn into a grilling over whether or not her father is credible. Has Allison insisting that her father is trustworthy changed your opinion on Brian Williams current situation? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
