Kim Gordon Memoir 'Girl in a Band' Slams Lana Del Rey Over Feminism, Early Death Wishes

Kim Gordon: Big Eyes

Calling back to Del Rey's comments last year that she is not a feminist and that she finds the appeal of dying at age 27 like Kurt Cobain glamorous, Gordon is calling BS on the statements, dismissing them as nothing more than a depressive "persona," Consequence of Sound reports.

She also blasts Del Rey's stance on feminism, which Del Rey noted she was "not interested" in during her promotion of Ultraviolence last year.

"Today we have someone like Lana Del Rey, who doesn't even know what feminism is, who believes women can do whatever they want, which, in her world, tilts toward self-destruction, whether it's sleeping with gross old men or getting gang raped by bikers. Equal pay and equal rights would be nice," Gordon Naturally, it's just a persona. If she really truly believes it's beautiful when young musicians go out on a hot flame of drugs and depression, why doesn't she just off herself?"

There are sure to be more hot takes in Gordon's memoir, which is due for release on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
