New York electro-pop duo Phantogram are gearing up for the February 18 release of their highly anticipated sophomore LP, Voices, via Republic Records. They recently released the album's lead single "Fall in Love," which is sitting at No. 1 on Spotify's Viral Chart. Now they're back with a video for the single "Black Out Days," off this fall's self-titled EP, which landed in the Top 10 of one of our staffer's Best of 2013 playlist and will also be included on February's releease.
The Evan Spencer Brace-directed clip features stark, provocative imagery including fire, tape, paint, milk, hair, feathers, dirt, smoke, fur, metal and bone — showing the anguish imagined in the song's lyrics. The track itself maintains a gritty edge while keeping steady over a buzzing, synth-fueled beat, making for a sound that is both sexy and haunting. Sarah Barthel's voice sails smoothly as the "eh eh ehs" ring on loop.
The upcoming effort Voices will be the duo's first major-label LP. Fans who pre-order the album will receive an instant download of the new single "Fall In Love." Check out the "Black Out Days" video and the Voices tracklist here, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!
